Design management
Design management is an important knowledge as well as professional area and an increasingly critical factor in achieving business and organisational goals in the most inspiring and efficient way. It is an interesting and broad management area, partly because it overlaps other management disciplines. Both beginning and more experienced design managers feel a need for exchange of information, and expansion of knowledge and exchange with other management domains.
DMN, Design Management Network
In its present form as a network organisation, the Design Management Network (DMN) has existed since 1999 and now has over hundred members. The DMN aims to promote knowledge acquisition and exchange among its members, and design management in general as a body of knowledge and a professional area.
Network meetings are pivotal to us
Five times each year, network-wide meetings are held, often in the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen. During these meetings, various design management topics are discussed within different contexts: economic, cultural, scientific and social. Members also receive a digital newsletter and updated membership list.
Three times a year, a host invites DMN for an ’open house’ meeting at his/her company. These meetings are intended to give members a chance to take an inside look at their colleagues’ activities: what’s up in the area of design management within this company?
Dutch platform
The network’s ambitions are proportional to its modest size: the DMN is a network organisation, not an interest group. It functions primarily as a platform for the exchange of internal knowledge and experience both among its members and between them and relevant other management domains.
For now, membership is only meaningful if you understand Dutch, since most events are held in this language. However, we can keep you informed on our english events. If you are interested, please send an email to info@dmnetwerk.nl
Membership rates
750 euro excl. VAT for companies (5 employees can visit each DMN activity)
375 euro excl. VAT for individual members
200 euro excl. VAT for a trial membership for the first year of membership.
Each form of membership will automatically be renewed in January. Trial membership will become an individual membership at the beginning of the following year.
